What is a waterless product? How do I use them?

Our products are formulated without water, in the form of concentrated powders made from natural ingredients.
Instructions for use: Add drinking water, shake to activate, and the product is ready to use.

Why are your products waterless?

Traditional products contain up to 90% water, which increases shipping weight and packaging. Our powders allow for:

• Around 90% less packaging weight per refill, compared to a full bottle.
• Richer, more natural formulations.

Are your products dermatologically tested?

Yes, all our water-activated products have been dermatologically tested on volunteers. Our shampoos and shower gels have also been tested to ensure safety if they come into contact with the eyes.

How much packaging and CO2 do you really save?

Our empty refill sachet weighs 4 g, compared to 40 g for a full bottle with pump — about 90% less packaging weight per refill. For hand soap specifically, an independent analysis by Fairglow found a 67–84% lower total carbon footprint than three conventional liquid refills, per 250ml of finished product (and 80–95% lower looking at just packaging, manufacturing and distribution) — we haven't run the same carbon analysis for shampoo or shower gel yet, so we don't extend that figure to them.

How do I activate the powder with water?

1. Add about one third of water to the bottle.
2. Pour in the powder: 25g for 250ml, 50g for 500ml. Please use the carton funnel that we provide.
3. Fill with the rest of the water (until the shoulder of the bottle).
4. Shake for 10 seconds and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes.
5. Shake again before use.

Can I use any type of water?

Use drinking water (tap or filtered). Avoid hot or boiling water to protect the bottle.

How long should I wait before using the product?

The product is ready after 20 minutes, but its texture can continue to thicken for 12-24 hours.

Why powders instead of solid bars?

Powders allow us to keep the benefits of liquid products (easy application, generous lather) while cutting the packaging weight and transport volume compared to bottled liquids.

How do I unlock the pump?

1. Screw the pump onto the bottle.
2. Turn the nozzle a quarter turn clockwise.
3. To lock it, turn it counterclockwise.

Can I buy a bottle separately?

Yes, they are available here. Proceeds help fund ocean cleanups.

Are your products natural?

Most of our products, once activated, are made of over 99% natural-origin ingredients — the exception is our anti-dandruff shampoo, which is 98%. The powders alone are 92–95% natural. Exact figures are calculated per ISO 16128 and shown on each product page.

Why do you use synthetic ingredients?

We use a very small number of synthetic ingredients — less than 0.7% of any formulation — where they do a specific job the formula needs. Piroctone olamine, for example, is of synthetic origin, and it's the most effective and gentle anti-dandruff agent we know of. Some synthetics are used to preserve a formula's quality over time, and in some cases we use “nature-identical” ingredients — synthetically manufactured versions of a natural ingredient — where that makes sense to help protect natural resources.

Which ingredients do you avoid?

Our products are free from parabens, silicones, SLS, EDTA, phthalates, dyes, microplastics, and more.

Are your ingredients organic?

We prioritize natural-origin and renewable ingredients. While we're not currently organically certified, we're working on it.

Are your products suitable for children?

They are suitable for children aged 3 and up. Consult a pediatrician before use for younger children.

I have sensitive skin, can I use your products?

Our products are dermatologically tested. If you tend to experience irritation, test on a small area before using.

Are natural fragrances irritating?

Our fragrances are mostly composed of natural essential oils and comply with European standards. If you have sensitivity, consider consulting an allergist.

Why are your products better for the environment?

• Our refill sachet weighs about 90% less than a full bottle with pump (4g vs. 40g).
• Paper-based sachet with a thin barrier layer — not fully plastic-free, but designed to cut down on new single-use plastic bottles.
• Our manufacturing partner's own analysis found a 94.6% reduction in electricity use comparing our powder references to the same references made as liquids — an approximate, site-wide figure, not isolated to the specific activation process.

How do you store the products?

Store at room temperature, away from humidity and light.

What is the shelf life?

• Powder: 36 months after manufacture.
• Once activated: 6 months.

Why do white flakes sometimes appear?

This can happen if the product is stored below 18°C, but it does not affect safety or effectiveness.
