Hi, we are Julie and Freddy...
We are the founders of less is more.
More than just a brand, we wanted to create a movement that helps change the way beauty products are being consumed: with more quality and less waste.
After spending over 40 years in large, international beauty companies, we decided to challenge the industry norms by focusing on what is inside the formulations instead of flashy, oversized single-use packagings and unnecessarily shipping water around the globe.
If you too believe that less can be more, then join us !
our manifesto
We are passionate about protecting our planet for future generations and focus on water preservation, energy efficiency, and waste reduction
We pledge to donate 20% of our profits to environmental NGOs in order to fund concrete projects that enable the preservation of our resources, the elimination of single-use plastic and the reduction of carbon emissions. We are also a proud member of the 1% for the Planet movement, and donate a minimum of 1% of our revenue to approved environmental nonprofit partners.
why waterless?
By offering only the active ingredients in powder form, we can reduce our packaging volume and transport-related carbon emissions by 90%.
Simply add water at home.
just add water, shake and enjoy
1. fill about a third of the bottle with drinking water*
2. add the powder
3. top up with more water, until the shoulder of the bottle
4. close the lid, and shake vigorously 10 times, until well mixed
5. let rest for 20 minutes**
6. shake once again 5 times, to ensure that everything is well mixed
Our impact
Our approach allows us to save 90% of packaging and 90% of transport related CO2. But what exactly is the climate impact of our products compared to our competitors ?
Together with Fairglow, a Paris-based sustainability company, specializing in Life Cycle Assessments at scale for the cosmetic industry, we compared Less is More hand soaps to 3 leading brands.
A word from Freddy
I have always been passionate about beauty and personal care, and, as a minimalist myself, I like to have the very best and smartest products that can be. I very much believe that less can be more.
A word from Julie
As a mother of 2 girls, I am concerned about leaving a healthy and liveable planet for future generations. I am convinced that, to change the world, it is up to companies and brands to enable consumers with tangible solutions that allow them to change their habits.
